As you have may noticed Eurocade 2016 is happening.

10. September 2016 in Oldenburg (Oldg.) Germany
Yes, ladies and gentleman it is taking place in Germany this year! We have a wonderful museum of old homecomputers in our town (OCM (http://www.computermuseum-oldenburg.de/)) that is also the home of our little arcaderoom. "We" is a little group of arcade- and pinball-freaks that decided to have an own arcade (that even opens to public once a month) a few years ago. After hearing that the former Eurocade crew will take off a year we decided to jump in and organize a meeting ourselfs. So let's get your cabs ready, book your flights, hire your trucks and hit the road to meet us and have the best party of the year in Oldenburg!
I guess I don't have to explain to much about the spirit Eurocade but to those who haven't been there before here is the idea: Eurocade in the first place is an arcade collectors meeting. The special thing is that the collectors bring in the machines for the weekend ... we have a bunch of cabs already in our gameroom but it is highly recommended and welcome to toss in another 20 cabinets at least.
It's not mandatory to bring a cab though. Many have to take a plane to come and most cabs don't fit the hand baggage containers in the planes properly. ;) So please feel free to appoint to our little gathering even if cab transport is not possible.
Eurocade is a closed event. This means that you have to have an appointment to be part of the fun. Just drop me a pm and I will add your name to the list of cool people here in this thread. If you bring a machine please report that too ... if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!! There will be a little entry fee that includes the dinner at saturday night. It will be 20,- Euros. For those who are interested in the computer exhibition: it will be open from 14:00 till 18:00 on saturday for Eurocade visitors too!

sounds great. as of now i don't have any school appointments that will keep me from coming, so i guess it's time to show up again after bening absent the last couple of years. and since i now have a "walk-in-gameroom" i can also easily bring a cab, most likely missile command.
so count me in!!!

I've been mentally responding to this forum a lot lately...as in...not actually posting anything.
So excuse the late post in that regards.
Me and the missus will also be there, and if you guys are up for it we can take along a NeoGeo (in Genaric cab though).
We've got some games for it laying around (Incl Metal Slug 2) so we can switch out some stuff during the Eurocade.
In the meantime i'll be working on our Robotron and Breakout(clone) cabinet, so there's a good change we will be able to bring
multiple cabs!
If help is needed with anything (we live quite close) just give a yell!

For all of you who will fly: you take the plane to bremen and then the railroad to Oldenburg?
Well, flying takes less time but its near equal from the costs against driving with my car and with the car, I could move to Stuttgart on sunday, visiting the Museum. So I think ill drive with the car and I can take something for you to austria ( sure you will give me some more infos ). I hope its not too big, my car isnt that big :-).

I think it's easyest to look around for hotels that are in reach. Another cheap one is Hotel Alexaderhaus which is about 15 minutes walk away from the museum or the Best Western in the Melkbrink (that's the streets name). Maybe 5 minutes more to go but Oldenburg is a small town. You can reach almost everything in 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes by car. The bus system is not that cool. Most people here travel by bike ...

Thanks Q*ris for the overview! Best Western is ok, Hotel Alexander also. These two are right round the corner from my place. Parking facilities are no problem in general. There is a lot of parking space at the Eurocade and you can leave your car at the venue if you don't mind taking a little walk.
So ... who else will join the party?? This will be great fun! Be there or be square ...

Unfortunateley my wife needs surgery on her foot and the date has now been set to September 7th, Wednesday. She will not be able (or allowed) to walk for one week, so I'm afraid I can't come to Eurocade this year :-[ :'(

Everything before noon will be perfect. Anyway, logistics are pretty easy in the building so we can bring the cab upstairs at any time. Doors will be open from 10:00, dinner is at 18:00. Everything in between is fine ;)

That is all very good news :) We will provide you all necessary infos about parking, opening times, cellphone numbers and shortest way to the beer fridge a week before the action starts.
I personally have two and a half weeks off work after the eurocade so there is plenty of time to have a nice chat and a decent afterparty on sunday ;)

Guys, I'm really really sorry but I won't be able to bring the games as I had hoped....
We've been looking into options to rent a van but the costs are simply too high.
Regretfully, none of us has access to any other way of transporting the beasts..... :(
So sadly SW cockpit and Berzerk are not going to make it. I was planning to try and fit my Q*bert in my car today but the weather gods screwed up that plan.....I don't have high hopes since Mark and Wilma also will need to fit in of course....kinda regret not getting a stationcar right now...
So...we're still coming but the cab situation is a lot less fun as I had hoped....sorry guys.
As a very very tiny compensation I will bring my "ultimate" Atari Lynx....I could also bring some home computer stuff, Vectrex etc.

André, that is no problem at all ... Eurocade is mainly based on meeting old friends again and making new ones!! Of course it is more fun with decent cabs but fortunately the lineup is already awesome with the games people bring!! The Star Wars cockpit will be missed though. ;)
That said I encourage anyone to bring another piece of wood. We have some space left (now) :P

Sooo.... here is a quick update:
We arranged the food for dinner now. There will be good german food (Hausmannskost) with potatoes, vegetables and meat in brown sauce. Very delicate!! There is also a vegetarian alternative for non-animal-killers and a salad bar. During the day we will have sandwiches (for a small dollar), cookies (for free) and other stuff.
The price for attending will be 20,- flat (very much like the other years). That includes the dinner of course, cookies during the day, small snacks at the party at night. All kinds of drinks and sandwiches can be bought for a very decent price during the day and at night. If you plan to bring your local beer, thats fine too. Just drop me a note if you plan to ... might change our shopping list ;)
The computer museum will be open between 14:00 and 18:00. For those interested in the homecomputers from the 70's till late 80's this will be very cool. So get ready for those!
At night we will have a small cinema with some oddities of 80's videogame movies. Be prepared to get a good dose of the strange and bizarre films that featured our best knows arcade cabs.

A couple of practical questions:
- We will be arriving late Friday evening. Around 2300. Will people be at the hotel or at the location at that hour? Will they be partying hard or simply sleeping?
- We will be staying at https://www.hotelbb.de/en/oldenburg/overview. Is this within walking distance for two 40+ men who are more into arcade than sports?

What is the best route from the airport Friday night?
I get in around 6.15 pm on Friday, the routes I an seeing are train to Bremen and then another to Oldenberg.

From Bremen Airport to Oldenburg is very easy by train. Just go for the mentioned stations: airport -> Bremen Central Station -> Oldenburg Central Station. Should be around an hour to go. When you are in Oldenburg, just leave the train station and drop by at the location! It's right next door. Beer is cold ... always.

I'm almost sure this one is already set on free play but just to be on the safe side could you still bring your "credit button" along please? Cool!

Hey guys, I've been working in Zeebrugge Belgium today and only just got home (20.00hrs.).

We proofed the electrics, some of the cabs and of course the best german beers already. Fits fine. :) Going to sllep now for maybe four hours and get it going. Eurocade jukebox already proofed its concept :)

Just got back home. It was a great party, again. :D Many thanks go to PRC and mrs. PRC and the other German Eurocade crew members. I had a lot of fun meeting and talking with a lot of friends and of course playing games. The food was great, the beer very nice and the atmosphere relaxing. Respect goes out to the ones that slept in their van! :D
I fell in love again with Space Zap, such a beautiful game. This game is, together with quadropong, a real party crusher.
Too bad that some guys who were on the guest list couldn't make it after all, it happens, you were missed and hopefully we will meet next year.
Can't wait for the 2017 edition, and I'm curious where that one will be held.

Hi guys, I just arrived at home too ( now only 10 hours for the trip back ).
It was my first eurocade and hell, it was fun. Its really cool to meet the people in person, have some chatter with them and off course drink some beer together ( or whiskey ;D ).
Thanks alot for the whole team who managed this Eurocade, you guys did an amazing job!!!

Guys ... I am still totally excited (and tired) and absolutely pleased with the weekend. Thanks a 1000 times to all who attended, brought cabs and kept the spirit alive. Was such a blast!!!
Pics and videos coming. We have 10gb of pics, 30gb of video plus two timelapse cams that worked the whole weekend. I guess this could be one of the best documented Eurocades so far :P

I got home around 16:30 today and I took a nap 1st ;D
I still have a smile on my face from this event. Great to meet so many of you again. Cool to meet some of the guys for the 1st time. BIG thanks to the OCM people for the organisation of Eurocade 2016. You guys and girls ROCK big time.
The only downside to this is that it's already over. I had a blast.
