Title: Hello From America!
Post by: METALHEAD on December 22, 2009, 08:14:26 AM
Hello All!  I have been lurking around in here for some time now.  I am impressed and now have a desire to rebuild/make some cabs (as you call them).  I don't have any myself but found this site when I learned the iphone was going to have Dragon's Lair app.
I work doing tech support for the iphone and ipod's and saw the add on the itunes.  I remember this game all to well.  I see some of you have what I would call a full blown arcade and I am very envious but happy to see that there are folks like yourselves keeping the games going.
I am hoping to get Dragon's Lair DVD for Christmas, but if not I will definitely be buying it shortly afterward.  I would like to thank everyone for putting up your stories and pictures of your trials and victories getting the games setup.  From a guy who is painfully stressed out, it is nice to see how you folks are working together and getting it done.  So.. I guess I should really be saying "Thanks" for being my little sanctuary  ;D

Welcome to this board Metalhead  :-*

You shouldn't have any problem to get the DVD version of Dragon's Lair on the bay for example. If you want to have the *accurate* arcade experience (without the cabinet of course :P), I strongly suggest you to buy the 20th anniversary DVD version, and use the DVD footage with the great Daphne emulator (all the details on their website, right here (http://www.daphne-emu.com/site3/index_hi.php)). You shouldn't have any problem to set up the thing  ;) But... please do not use DVD version ... inside your DVD movie player... there are short pauses betweens all moves... and it makes the game... unplayable! You also have the lazy option : the Blu-Ray version of the game that work perfectly on PS3 for example.
