Dragon's Lair / Space Ace / Dedi Space Ace restoration.....
« on: October 25, 2007, 02:52:53 AM »
Bruno you are welcome here, just let me know when ;)

Mike, I've seen your SA and B-day cake over d-l-p ;)

This game was imported in Italy with around other 10 games (DL and SA only all used shipped via AIR)  in 1983/1984 by a friend.
He sold this game @ around 2300USD (acual USD) when Atari and Sidam game cost aroud 2700-2900USD. Keep in that Pioneer LDP are WAY better then Philips ones.

I know another Dedi SA whit 5/6 LD-V1000 is located near me in a warehouse, but my contact wont share WHERE is it located (it's in a 50 miles range...           )
(Bruno this place is NEAR Rimini, as I know You know Rimini too ;) )

As for Sidam game the only one i know  for sale is the one i'll pick up in the next weekend, it's a beauty Space Ace.

Mike btw how much vinyl i'll need to restore the whole cab?
and where have you found the sideart?
 thanks

OK back from hell!!!!

So here we go ;)

before i forget i'll tell you another one tips...
Check voltage on the board, not on the PS,  connector cause voltage drop so your 5.30 can be 5.0  or less on the board...
For the boot problem I've tested one of my game without the I/O pcb and got the same image so you can have problem in that board, is the cable from I/O pcb to the main PCB good?
have you tested the second main pcb?
Let me know

See ya

:?  "any" why he should move the fan ???

i dont get it   :?:

I don't know exactly why, but this an official Sega bulletin.
In the orginal position the fan throw a LOT of dust beetwen the cpu and video board, where I live (200 meters from sea) we have a LOT of humidity and over the year i've got some custom chip losing pins, since i've moved the fan the problem disappear...

OK... I know that the twin cabs are not working... it was the deal with the seller   .

The seller (an arcade professional) said to me that the power supply are perfecly working on both cab... the problem should be in the boards  :?:  :?

Hint:

Try swapping the small board ;)

second hint:
-remove or move the fan to another position

where the cable from the small board to the filter board are there are 2 holes where you can put the fan

Have fun

Dragon's Lair / Space Ace / Re: Advice please?!?!? Ultracade machine

Hey all
I as wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of an ultracade dl/sa/dl2 machine? I visited Finnys place today and after much deliberation over the past few months as to what is going to be the best machine for me to buy (was originally gonna go for a dl2) I think that they are just a bit too big for my flat, and so the ultracade 20th anniversary model (the yellow one) would be the most practical although it is an emulated version and not an original for the time being, I am going to try to get one of these. I have asked jase to see if he can help track one down, but thought I would also see if anyone here could point me in the right direction, or shed some light as to where is best to start looking? Also whats the difference between an ultracade version and a jamma / daphne version?
i am totally new to the cab scene so please forgive me my noobish questions, but figured if any group would know, it'd be you guys!

Thx alot in advance
Adam (spyfox)

Hi Adam,
I don't know where you can find an ultracade machine, BUT you can but a DL/DL2/SA ultracade kit here , you will need a standard  jamma cab for this kit.

Hi Adam,
I enjoyed it too!!!
It's a great place and there was a lot of nice people.
I spent 2 great days last weekend and i have only one thing to complain about.
Planes and trains are ALWAYS late.
Matteo and I had to wait for 1 hour each flight before landing, later on the return trip Matteo went directly to work while I spent another 8 hours on our very on-time train service (the trip should be only 6 hours!!!)

I've met a LOT of great guys:
-Jason (the MAN)
-Justin (the crazy new official Jason technician)
-Bruno (Picture-maniac)
-Adam (another Picture-maniac guy)
-the 2 guys (sorry i don't remember their names, but drove for 5 hours to play Dragon's Lair!!!!)
-All the other people who came at Jason place just to talk/play about this "old fashion" games.
I spent an afternoon installing a NOS Thayer's Quest, fixing a NOS Pioneed LD-V1000 for that game and ENJOYED seeing it alive (I've NEVER seen one before)

See ya next year guys
Andrea

Technical Area / Monitor color problem
« on: September 15, 2006, 04:31:02 AM »
On the neck board there are 2 BIG resistor for each color
IIRC one is 39K and one is 56K omh or something like that, test them with a multimeter I bet at least 1 is fault :P
this is a common problem for this monitor.

Bye ANY
