check this one out, a 1983 3D sitdown game SUBROC
http://link.marktplaats.nl/339336316
is this our Marktplaats 'friend' or is this the infamous man from Den Helder from which Ckong bought his DK?
-
to be honest, i had never heard of that game before, but from what i've just read the game itself seems to be rather boring apart from the 3d effect which of course makes it interesting again ;) ::)
but 1000 euros for a non-working game "non-graily" game is imho way too much. and there's one thing i just don't get: judging from the picture, how is one supposed to sit in that cab while staring through the 3d goggles at the same time. i'd like to see the person who can do that :o
who knows that game?
-
Wow  a Subroc for sale, here in Europe? :o ...and the cockpit version :o
Impressive !!!
I'm a big fan of this game. I agree it may be a little bit boring to play, but it's a common reflexion we can use for a lot of our 'old' games after all? ::) except for those who were fan of it, like I'm for this one :P
Well, in fact I used to play this game on my Colecovision like a mad man, and I do not remember played the real thing in the Arcade... except last year at Funspot ;D

Well, I would like to see the real picture of the game for sale ::)
To be honest, this game is not in my 'must have' list, but it would be a nice addition ::) Anyway, I do not have room now for such thing, and the price asked won't help :-\ Anyway, I'm curious to know more about this, and of course, I would like to see real pictures of the cab for sale 8)

I smell our fake-boy again....internet pictures, extremely rare cab, it has all the elements.
BUT, I know via-via there's supposed to be a collector in that place....
I'll believe it when I see original pictures and not internet pictures....
Mmmm, there's a phonenumber this time....
-
i've just sent him an email :)! well, at least there's a phone number there, so it doesn't sound too fake - and the starting bid is 1000 bucks, if i remember correctly the fake auctions always started with one euro.

is that you bruno behind the periscope? man, that thing looks HUGE, probably because of the steps in front of the cabinet!
-
No, Bruno is just not so tall ;)
-
cool cabinet and it's a Sega, but the price is way to much imho

-

got word back from the seller, he bought the machine 1995 as is, never opened or started it. It doesn't have any heavy damages, it is stored in his garage, he is selling it because they are going to demolish the garage.
He doesn't have good pics at the moment, first he has to sell the fitness equipment which is in front of it ;)!
here's his homepage: www.marcovos.com - what a show-off  "pictures of my mercedes ..." jesus christ!!!

............... is this the infamous man from Den Helder from which Ckong bought his DK? ..............
I'm the guy Ckong bought his DK from, what's so infamous about me?
-
i told marco that i think 1000 euros is too much for that machine, he said 800 because it's so rare. he can keep it! ;)
-
Knowing where he lives (Den Helder), and seeing his impressive collection at VAPS, he must be the mysterious Dutch arcade collector I heard some people talking about. He has some really great games like Qbert, Tempest, DOT and EDOT. Yes, I'm sure that it is him.
Unbelievable, and this in The Netherlands. Never thought that that was possible.

Like Ckong said in his reply, I also heard a story once that there was a mysterious Dutch Arcade collector in the kop of NoordHolland who said to have an impressive collection. I thought Ckong bought his DK cabinet from that collector, because it is such a rare cabinet to buy from someone in the Netherlands. I also recalled Ckong's roadtrip for his DK cab to be also in that Den Helder area. Here you can see that on the map:

But I think I confussed the two of you. My bad.
-
I can see the context now.....
No worries, easy mistake to make.

One of my friends here in Italy has an original upright one which is fully working. Maybe he could be interested in selling it if you agree to do an italian roadtrip :)
Well, if you're seriously interested, drop me an e-mail and I'll give you his contact.
