Ms. Pac Man factory footage
« on: December 23, 2012, 05:00:59 PM »
Here it's a vid of a Bally/Midway factory in the 80's, showing the making process of a Ms pacman cabinet.

Enjoy! :)

PS: the vid start at 0:49.

More (mostly Bally) factory footage:

Pac Man and Tron production going on. Funny, I recognize some of the guys from the Ms.Pac video (esp. the guy with the weird hat :) )

Cool video Level42! Nice pick-N-place machines. Reminds me a bit of assembling 33 Retro Spaces in 2010.

Yeah, it was top-of-the-bill in the early 80's I guess but when I looked at it my first feeling was: Mmmm, pretty slow.

Then again, can't compare through-hole picking and placing with SMD....

I was expecting hand work!

LOL, well inserting the chips is :)

It's a lot of hand work still. Today it would probably happen in China, although Stern seems to be keeping up things with the pinball machines in pretty much the same way they always did.
