So, I was looking at this new Sonic The Hedgehog 20th Anniversary statue... Awesome! I want one.....! Ooops, sorry, your not rich enough, come back when you have as much money as that facebook guy! :evil:

This is terrible news for collectors who would love to get their hands on one of these amazing statues as now the only sensible way of securing one for yourself will to be fighting it out on eBay with other collectors with very deep pockets and desire to own one of these.
I'm really mad at F4F (first 4 figures) right now. Why the F do companies do this? I would have gladly paid the average (200-400) for this, but this is (expletive deleted)...ing crap.
These are so much nicer than any statue the company has made before. And as many of you know, I'm Sonic crazy, and really want this.
Just a rant, but "giving these away" in an unknown or lottery manner only to be resold is B.S. :evil: :evil:

I dont think I completely understand but from what I read Sega ordered these from that company that makes them and hands them out as a relation gift etc.
A practice very common IMHO and IMHO there is very little against it.
And after all, the rich get everything, we all know that.
Its like fi when Mark King is giving away a bass guitar to get auctioned off for a good cause. Nice fot the good cause, but only rich people can afford the amounts bid on such items, and then they boredly hang it in a forgotten corner of their mansion.....
sure I dont like that, sure Id like to own a bass guitar that was formerly used by the best bass player in the world, but it's not going to happen so I simply accept that....

Hello, I'm writing you today because I'm uspset that you made an awesome
Sonic 20th anniversary statue that I'm unable to add to my collection.
Why would you make an incredible statue only to torture your customers by
only "giving away" only a few.... Knowing they'll only be resold to people
with lots of money.(which is NOT me)
Right now I've seen one on eBay for 2,000.00! I cannot afford that. This is
stupid. As a business in this terrible economy, You should be making
products that people will want to buy, not have to fight for on eBay.
After having so much trouble getting my damaged Super Sonic replaced, I was
iffy about buying any more statues, and I fell behind on getting Metal
Sonic, as well as Knuckles and Tails coming soon.
I really want this Sonic statue for my collection, Am I basically screwed
for not being rich?
Please let me know, and Please do not do this again, as you are only hurting
your customers.

Thanks for your email. I understand your concern, but please note that this
is not our statue to sell. We made this direct for SEGA as a celebration of
the 20th Anniversary - it was their decision to only give them away.
We do plan on giving one away in our forums once we've got enough people to
set up a competition so be sure to register there you haven't done so yet -

@barry: don't know if you've ever told us, but what is your fascination behind sonic stuff? for example i'm a collector of ultima stuff, because those were the games i spent hours and weeks back in the days and starting with ultima iv, nothing could beat them storywise either. i still think ultima vii is the best video game ever written!!!

I loved Sonic from the moment I first got a Sega Genesis back in the fall of 1991, and that reason was to play the new game Sonic The Hedgehog!
If you played it when it was new, you remember it was the first game to have incredible Stereo Sound with great background music. The Zones in Sonic were incredibly detailed! (for 1991)
One day back in 1992, I was at a local drugstore, and on the candy shelf was a little Sonic.. I grabbed one to buy and placed it on my Sega Genesis... :D
From there, as I saw more Sonic stuff come out, I decorated my bedroom with it. As my obsession with console games grew, and just started collecting arcade games, I decided I'll keep getting more Sonic stuff to decorate a gameroom "someday"
And Today, here I am!! Happy Joy! ahhheemmmm.... except for this statue fiasco. :-\
