Space Ace -> THE restoration !!!
« on: June 10, 2006, 08:04:05 AM »
First of all, have a look at the nice roadtrip done to bring back the cab' from UK to Belgium right here

The beast

...the back...

... water damages...

...control panel...

...behind the invisible 'ghost marquee', the neon... (dedicated to PO|NG  )

...the cab' bottom... ouch  :?

...This SA stil has an identity

...I hate water...

...and humidity  :x  !!!

...when water & wood unites  :? ...

The monitor still there... Does it work ? ... I'll see that next

Ok, let's start to remove everything ( well, there is no many things to remove in fact  ) :

Exit the monitor, the coins door, the control panel...

Ok, in that postion I can start to repair the base... my god, what an HUGE restoration project  :?

Stay Tuned  8)

The tools of the day :

Let's start to repair the base

First of all, removing the bad wood...

...then use a 'wood filler' :

I'm sanding it... manually...

All the front is done...

...but I need to put some more 'wood filler'  to finish as clean as possible and removing small holes...

... first time I'm doing that kind of job, so be indulgent...

Thanks ArcadeFever  :P  :P  :P

By the way I really like your parody picture here :

Yes, I've almost all the parts to complete that Cab

- NTSC video disc player
- Space Ace laser disc NTSC
- A set of 2 brand new sidearts + cpo + marquee ( from quaterarcade, repro under Bluth License )
- New black vinyl
- New T-molding
- New wico joystick
- New repro plexi
- New repro marquee bracket

I have to repair all the cab first, and rebuild some parts...

I don't know if the monitor is working yet...

Well, I'm far from the end... but that Space Ace cab' will rise again, be sure of that  8)
